Cogneez
Refund & Cancellation Policy
Last updated 15 September 2026
This policy explains how free trials, cancellations and refunds work for Cogneez Pro subscriptions. It forms part of our Terms of Use.
Free trial
Every new member gets a free trial — no card required — so you can fully evaluate Cogneez before paying anything. You only become a paying subscriber if you choose to subscribe.
Subscriptions and billing
Cogneez Pro is billed in South African Rand, either monthly or every six months (the six-month plan is discounted). Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel. Payments are processed securely by our payment provider; we do not store your full card details.
Some payments are one-time rather than a subscription. Apple Pay, for example, only allows one-time payments. A one-time payment gives you access until the end of the period you paid for and does not renew, and we remind you before it ends. If you then choose a monthly or six-month plan, that plan is a subscription and renews automatically until you cancel.
Cancelling
You can cancel at any time, yourself, from Account → Manage Billing. When you cancel:
- your subscription stops renewing immediately and you are not charged again;
- your Pro access continues until the end of the period you have already paid for, after which your account moves to the free tier.
Refunds
Because we offer a free trial to evaluate the service before paying, subscription fees for the current period are generally non-refundable. We will, however, promptly refund:
- duplicate or clearly erroneous charges; and
- any charge taken after you have already cancelled.
Goodwill refunds in other circumstances are considered on a case-by-case basis — just get in touch.
If something’s wrong
Please contact us first, before raising a dispute with your bank — we want to put it right. Reach us through the in-app feedback form or by email at cogneez@gmail.com. We monitor both and aim to respond within two business days.
Your statutory rights
Nothing in this policy limits any rights you may have under South African consumer law, including the Consumer Protection Act and the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act.
